BENZ VCI Paper is a volatile corrosion inhibitor (VCI) packaging material manufactured by BENZ Packaging Solutions. It consists of 100% virgin kraft paper impregnated on both sides with BENZ proprietary VCI compounds — developed through an exclusive technology partnership with specialty chemical laboratories in Italy. When sealed around metal parts, the VCI molecules vaporize and form an invisible protective layer on all exposed metal surfaces, actively preventing rust and oxidation without oils, greases, or chemical coatings. The protection is completely dry and residue-free — parts unwrap clean and go directly to assembly.
BENZ VCI Paper is engineered for multi-metal protection, meaning a single paper formulation simultaneously protects ferrous metals (steel, cast iron), non-ferrous metals (aluminum, copper, brass), and mixed-metal assemblies — without tarnishing sensitive yellow metals. The formulation is 100% nitrite-free and amine-free, fully compliant with EU REACH and RoHS regulations, and certified to the U.S. military specification MIL-PRF-3420H and the German occupational safety standard TRGS 615.
BENZ Packaging develops its VCI compounds through an exclusive technology partnership with European specialty chemical laboratories. This gives BENZ access to advanced VCI formulations that have been independently validated by BFSV (Germany), ILF (Germany)und Intertek — the same laboratories that certify corrosion protection materials for the European automotive industry.
VCI compounds are embedded into both sides of the kraft paper during manufacturing. This ensures that protective vapor is emitted from every surface of the paper, providing 360° corrosion protection inside sealed packaging.
BENZ's nitrite-free, amine-free VCI chemistry protects steel, cast iron, aluminum, copper, brass, zinc, and chrome simultaneously — without causing galvanic reactions or tarnishing sensitive metals.
When the VCI layer is disrupted (e.g., by condensation droplets), the continuous vapor emission from the paper automatically re-deposits protective molecules — maintaining an unbroken anti-corrosion shield for up to 5 years.
VCI molecules travel through air to reach every surface within the sealed package — including threaded holes, hydraulic ports, blind cavities, and undercuts that are impossible to protect with traditional oil-based methods.
Four engineered formats to match every industrial corrosion challenge — from precision interleaving to heavy-duty export crating.
Standard VCI interleaving and wrapping paper. Ideal for automotive assembly lines, CNC machine shops, and corrugated box lining. The most widely used VCI paper format globally.

Different industrial applications demand different VCI paper properties. This guide helps procurement and packaging engineers select the right BENZ VCI Paper format based on their specific operating conditions.
| Anwendung | Recommended BENZ VCI Paper | Why This Format |
|---|---|---|
| Automotive assembly line interleaving | VCI Normalpapier (55 g/m²) | Fast dispensing, clean unwrap, OEM certified |
| Ocean freight export packaging | Poly-Coated Laminated (80–120 GSM) | Physical moisture barrier + VCI vapor protection |
| Engine blocks and irregular castings | VCI Crepe Paper (130 GSM) | 30% stretch conforms to complex geometries |
| Defense and heavy mining equipment | VCI HD Reinforced (100–162 GSM) | Tear and puncture resistance for rough handling |
| Mixed-metal assemblies (steel + copper) | Any BENZ VCI Paper (multi-metal safe) | Nitrite-free formula protects all metals simultaneously |
| Long-term indoor storage (up to 5 years) | VCI Plain Paper + Desiccants | Self-healing VCI layer with humidity control |
| Electronics and PCB protection | VCI Plain Paper (anti-static variant) | ESD-safe, non-conductive, no residue on solder points |

The VCI molecules settle on all exposed metal surfaces, forming an invisible molecular shield that blocks the electrochemical reactions that cause rust and oxidation. BENZ VCI Paper uses proprietary VCI formulations validated by BFSV and ILF laboratories in Germany.
BENZ VCI Paper protects ferrous metals (carbon steel, stainless steel, cast iron), non-ferrous metals (aluminum, copper, brass, bronze, zinc), and mixed-metal assemblies simultaneously. The BENZ VCI formulation is nitrite-free and amine-free, which means it will not tarnish sensitive yellow metals like copper or brass.
When properly sealed, BENZ VCI Paper provides active corrosion protection for up to 3 years under standard conditions. When combined with BENZ desiccants and aluminium barrier film in a sealed system, protection can extend up to 5 years.
